Interpower Components

Interpower Components - Power Systems Components for Medical Equipment

Founded in 1992 and located in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Interpower Components supports power systems designers and equipment manufacturers in Europe by supplying international electrical connectors, cables and power distribution components.

Our continued objective is to offer our customers the knowledge and expertise that we have assimilated over the years in our specialised field of international power systems components, and to help them use this knowledge in meeting international standards and requirements.

MEDICAL SOCKET STRIPS

A full line of hospital grade cords for the North American market, as well as medical-grade socket strips and power entry modules are available from stock. To help our customers achieve success in the commercial challenges of selling products in the global market, we provide several forms of competent support.

INTERNATIONAL POWER CORDS

We manufacture and distribute a wide range of power cords and cordsets. In particular, the plugs on cords are subject to special rules in North America, Denmark, and Australia / New Zealand. Aside from these regions, power cords and cordsets for medical equipment throughout the world are no different than cords used for non-medical equipment in each market.

MEDICAL POWER SUPPLY TRAINING

Most Interpower Components products conform to applicable international standards and carry the relevant agency approvals. We ensure that our staff are fully qualified to assist our customers in meeting their specific industry requirements. All Interpower Components employees complete approximately 80 hours of training at our parent company, Interpower Corporation, in the US.

This training includes a 20-hour product training session as well as job specific training. This enables us to provide our customers with quality products and service, technical data where required, approval information, samples, price, delivery quotations and availability quickly.

POWER ENTRY MODULES

We recognise that special medical requirements place significance on fusing and filtering when selecting components used in medical equipment. Patient-connected medical equipment can be subjected to low-leakage current requirements. The use of a low leakage filter in the 5µA range at 250VAC is desirable. In addition, fusing of both line and neutral connectors may be required (i.e. double fusing).

We stock many items in our catalogue in the UK, and have no minimum orders. Our despatch service includes an overnight delivery service in UK mainland and three-day service schedules to continental Europe, as well as direct shipments from our factory in the US for customised products. This assures our customers that we can reliably satisfy their urgent requirements on a business-as-usual basis, and help them compete in the international marketplace.
