Medical Production Technology Europe (MPT Europe) provides a comprehensive range of equipment with a focus on balloon, catheter and stent manufacturing and inspection. This includes:

Our in-house design team works with our customers from the initial concept stage through to development and transfer. For that they have all the necessary design tools at their disposal. With over 15 years’ experience within the medical device industry MPT Europe has developed a deep understanding of our customers’ key requirements, and focuses on developing equipment that offers operator independence and a greater return on investment.

Stent crimping equipment and stent radial force measurement systems

MPT Europe has developed a unique crimping head that has zero gaps and allows for full closure. The head can be made in several length and maximum diameter configurations. The technology is used in our radial stent compression measurement systems and in our stent crimping equipment.

These stent testing systems are also delivered with a heated water bath (RCM-60-WB) and allow for radial force measurement while being submerged in a 37ºC water environment to simulate the in-vivo situation, especially for Nitinol and biodegradable stents.

Balloon pleating and folding machines

The MPT Europe pleating technology is easy to use in both manual and automated systems. We offer manual and automated solutions for two to six folds / pleats and can pleat and fold balloons up to 300mm in length.

The crimping head technology developed by MPT Europe is used in the automatic folding heads for folding balloons. As the technology has zero gaps there is no risk of the balloons being caught between segments. The heads can be heated and cooled for optimum heat setting of the balloon.

Combined with the pleating systems a total solution to your balloon folding is offered. The fully automated systems are intended for higher volume production, and we offer manual systems for small series and R&D applications that give an excellent pleat for a competitive price.

Marker band swaging and positioning

MPT Europe offers solutions for positioning and swaging markers on to your catheter. These range from easy-to-use manual systems to fully automated systems where vision and servo systems are used for the alignment of components. The swaging technology used is robust and reliable. The equipment has a modular design and with the use of quick-exchange units one can easily switch between products without realigning the equipment.

Bonding equipment and burst pressure testing equipment

Other equipment offered by MPT Europe ranges from bonding equipment and burst pressure testing to basic cutting tools. We work with companies to identify solutions to specific production or inspection problems. Our in-depth experience in this field, combined with our background in automation and development, enables us to provide innovative solutions and expertise each time.
