Exopack Advanced Coatings - Polyurethane Films for Wound Care, Ostomy and Medical Devices

Exopack Advanced Coatings produce polyurethane films for manufacturers in the wound care, ostomy and medical device sector. From thin breathable polyurethane films to complex anti-bacterial laminates and conductive substrates, the product range is designed to help manufacturers produce dressings that reduce the cost of patient care by providing improved healing and extended wear time. All products are tested in accordance with ISO 10993.

Polyurethane films for medical products

Polyurethane films are ideal for use in medical products as a backing film for hydrophilic foams, hydrocolloid dressings and adhesive coated secondary wound dressings. These polyurethane films have excellent breathability, low co-efficient of friction, together with good transparency and an exceptional matt surface. We have recently added self supporting and thicker polyurethane films to the portfolio.

Adhesive-coated polyurethane films

We can offer a wide range of adhesive-coated polyurethane films, including:

• High tack adhesives for blister dressings etc
• Breathable adhesives for chronic wound dressings etc
• Gentle adhesives for sensitive skin
• Gamma-sterilisable breathable adhesive

Our clear filmic liners are recommended for situations where there is a need to view the wound as the dressing is applied and also for incise applications.

Foams for medical dressings

Adhesive coated or uncoated polyurethane films / foam laminates offer good breathability, protection and insulation. Used to create dressings that can be applied without the need for support films / papers with low coefficient of friction and an exceptionally soft feel.

Conductive films for electrodes

Carbon containing films that can be modified with silver or silver / silver chloride are available for a variety of electrode applications including ECG, TENS, biosensors and cosmetic applications.
