Increased attention of digital media apps
With an increase in consumer income, an intensified focus on health, and the Chinese Government’s emphasis on healthcare shifting from diagnosis and treatment to prevention, more advanced home-use medical devices and wearables are expected to see an increase in demand.
It was reported the online sales of medical devices in China reached to more than $2.4bn in 2015 and downloads of medical, fitness, and sports apps also rose dramatically. In addition, sales revenue of medical devices from the Tmall Medical Shop increased from $115.2m in 2012 to $1bn in 2015.
