IMR Test Labs

IMR Test Labs - Materials Research and Testing Services

IMR Test Labs offer a complete scope of materials research and testing services, including failure analysis, expert testimony, lab management, product testing, training and much more.

We have three state-of-the-art facilities, located in Lansing, New York; Charleston, South Carolina; and Louisville, Kentucky. Our research and development labs are accredited by A2LA and NADCAP, and are certified by major manufacturers across the US. Our customer list is a who's who of North American industry.

Behind the doors of our facilities are nearly 100 knowledgeable, experienced professionals - PhDs, engineers, chemists, metallurgists, technicians and support staff - who work side by side with clients in a diverse range of industries.

Our mission is a simple one: to provide every client with top-notch service. With our fulltime IT staff, we embrace new technology and leverage it to our customers' best advantage. That means quotes are fast. Calls get returned the same day. Testing is efficient and reports are delivered on time.

MEDICAL DEVICE TESTING SERVICES

Medical device technology has seen rapid developments in recent years. New advanced materials and more powerful electronics have greatly improved the quality of care available to patients everywhere. However, with these improvements have come greater challenges in medical device testing including materials analysis and product reliability.

IMR offers unique capabilities to support manufacturers in this environment. We continually update and improve our material analysis techniques to be able to assure material quality and purity. Our combination of engineering capabilities, fixture machining and environmental simulations allow us to perform extensive reliability and product testing on all types of products.

PRODUCT TESTING

The product testing group is supported by the resources of the entire organization and is capable of evaluating almost any product for safety, quality, and performance. Unlike many product testing labs, IMR is also a materials testing lab. This means we are able to completely analyze the components and raw materials that make up the product, or identify and solve issues that may happen during the performance testing. Competitive benchmarking, reverse engineering, component testing and product surveillance programs designed to the specific needs of the customer are offered.

FAILURE ANALYSIS

The failure analysis group specializes in root cause analysis. Analysis expertise includes evaluation of field failures and returns, manufacturing process problems, evaluation of life-cycle test failures, defect detection, contamination analysis, corrosion and environmental effects, and product design review.

Failure analysis reports provide a clear picture of the root cause, and include recommendations to avoid future failures - from component design, through material selection and processing. Over the last 18 years, thousands of evaluations have been performed.

CHEMICAL ANALYSIS

The chemists at IMR have numerous analytical tools at their disposal, all geared toward providing accurate, NIST traceable analyses of metals and process solutions. The staff is experienced, professional, and knowledgeable in the latest analytical techniques.

NONMETALLICS

The polymer analysis department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for polymer analysis and characterization. The equipment is housed in a room which is maintained at constant temperature and humidity.
