QuadTech, a leading provider of electrical safety test and passive component measurement solutions, today announced the promotion of Shari Richardson to Director of Engineering, Medical Division.
QuadTech CEO and President Phil Harris says: "We are all excited that Shari is taking on this new role. QuadTech's Medical Division has continued to grow over the last few years and with the growth we’ve experienced, we need a director devoted to managing the technical team that supports our medical customers."
As Director of Engineering, Medical Division, Richardson will have responsibility for developing electrical safety test solutions for Medical Device Manufacturers (MDMs). These solutions seamlessly integrate into the manufacturing, R&D, and compliance testing processes to ensure that the manufactured devices comply with global electrical safety standards such as IEC60601-1.
Ensuring that a device complies with IEC 60601-1 can be a complex and multi-faceted task. Shari's industry knowledge, understanding of standards compliance requirements and vision of future industry trends enable her to understand a manufacturer's current testing process and recommend solutions to correct compliance issues. These solutions include integration of compliance data into MES, ERP, and PLM systems as well as CA/PA and SPC processes. Additionally they improve the overall efficiency of manufacturing processes.
QuadTech's Sentinel System, driven by QuadTech's automation software, CaptivATE, offers MDMs a complete testing solution. CaptivATE was developed in strict accordance with QuadTech's documented Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process to build-in quality and provides MDMs with comprehensive and accurate testing documentation.
After joining QuadTech in January of 2001 as an Applications Engineer, Richardson has previously acted as the Product Manager of the Electrical Safety Test and Cable Test product lines. Prior to joining QuadTech, Inc. she was a Senior Process Engineer at Biz2Net Technologies. Richardson earned a BSEE from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell.
