Worst Case Leakage Current Testing

Date
15 Oct 2007

Abstract

Leakage current testing is the measurement of electrical “leakage current” that results from powering an electrical appliance via mains or dc power. Leakage current is the unwanted or unintended flow of electrical current that presents an electrical hazard such as shock or burn. This testing is performed during the compliance or type-testing phase of a new design and is also performed during manufacturing to ensure products comply with international safety standards such as IEC60601, IEC61010, IEC60950 and others.
