Major Medtech Corporations Aim to Capture Innovation at EuroMedtech™ 2011

EBD Group has announced that the 2011 edition of EuroMedtech™ – its partnering event for the medical technology sector – will feature a ‘Large Medtech Corporation’ presentation track. This track echoes the ‘Big Pharma’ track featured in EBD Group’s biopharma events, and is designed to give major corporations a high-profile platform to showcase their partnering strategy and goals.

Major medtech corporations that are already signed up include ArcRoyal, Philips and Sorin. EuroMedtech 2011 will be held in Turin 16–17 May at the Torino Incontra Conference Center.

“Customer-centric and timely innovation is going to be crucial for growth and success in the future – and the Philips Healthcare Incubator has a key role to play in this,” said Frederic Sottilini from Philips Healthcare Incubator. “By participating in the 2011 edition of EuroMedtech, we are looking forward to taking this message to a wide audience and to increasing the visibility of our incubator.”

“ArcRoyal plays a key role in distributing new innovations to healthcare providers throughout Europe,” said Eoin O’Dwyer from ArcRoyal. “We want to reach out to companies with the newest innovations to ensure we can help them maximize their opportunity in Europe.”

Carola Schropp, president of EBD Group, the producer of EuroMedtech, added, “Collaboration is a prerequisite for continued innovation and growth in the medtech industry. Similar to the pharmaceutical industry, most market innovations reside with smaller, entrepreneurial firms. By taking advantage of EBD’s conference platform that encourages the formation of partnerships between emerging innovators and large multidisciplinary healthcare and medical research firms, the medtech industry will continue to flourish for society’s ultimate benefit.”

EuroMedtech 2011 will also feature presentations from small, innovative companies seeking to expose their technologies to potential partners and funders.

Networking at EuroMedtech is taken to a new level by EBD Group’s partneringONE® software, which enables delegates to efficiently identify, meet and do business with attending companies, from large international medtech companies and just launched start-ups, to venture capitalists and private equity firms.
