Besides “classic” visible light image, we make sensors for high energetic particle detection (neutron, protons and electrons), X-ray, as well as ultraviolet (UV) and near-infrared (NIR) light.

In addition to image sensors, we are also active in the field of Read-Out Integrated Circuits (ROICs) for other photon detection materials such as Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) for X-ray detection and for various Infrared detection materials.

We have a track record in image sensors and ROICs for space missions. Through years of innovation, Caeleste designed its electronics resilient to the effects of the harsh radiation in space.

Achievements for medical applications can benefit from the knowledge acquired in space. Conversely, the high-yield methods scrutinised in X-ray imagers for the medical domain apply to other fields as well. Especially wafers scale X-ray sensors for dental imaging push the yield question beyond state of the art. As X-rays cannot be focused, the size of the image sensor must match the target area. Our Intellectual property (IP) makes it possible to design and produce wafer-scale devices with a high production yield.

We developed the ROIC that allows electrodes to be implanted into the brain at orders of magnitude higher density than previously possible.
