Between 27 March to 1 April 2021, 9,025 medtech jobs were posted worldwide by 317 companies, according to the Globaldata jobs analytics tool.

This is a substantial decrease on the number of jobs reported in the last period, when 12,839 medtech jobs were posted worldwide by 332 companies, representing a listing decrease of almost 30%.

UK opens applications for medtech business funding

The UK government has now opened the Medicines and Diagnostics Manufacturing Transformation Fund for applications, having announced the scheme last November.

The £20m scheme is intended to boost the UK’s ability to respond to future pandemics, as well as put the country ahead of global competitors.

UK Life Sciences Minister Nadhim Zahawi said: “I am thrilled to see this fund opening for applications and would encourage companies to make the most of the opportunity to expand their operations and create good jobs as we build back better from the pandemic.”
