Innovations Applied for IP Protection Recently

Innovations applied for IP protection tracks new noteworthy patent applications published recently in the Medical Sector including ground-breaking technologies and the company’s technological and strategic shift towards adoption of new technologies.

Overjet is awarded a patent for the invention of artificial intelligence technology to accurately measure anatomical structures and quantify disease on dental X-rays. The invention relates to a method and system for receiving a dental radiographic image. An image processor predicts masks and points of the oral structure using the segmenter and the object detector to become part of image metadata. The dental radiographic image and image metadata are further provided to a measurement processor for calculating a sensor pixel to mm (millimeter) ratio and calculate a calibrated measurement of the oral structure.

Lithuanian University of Health Sciences have patented technology for advanced health monitoring of stroke survivors. This invention discloses a novel method for monitoring and analyzing human cardiovascular functions. The presented method and equipment allow to measure two types of cardiovascular parameters, to process, synchronize, analyze them and thus to obtain information about the state of cardio and brain vascular activity changing over time. Also, spatial analysis is applied to the measured bioimpedance data which together with the temporal analysis data allows determining the patient’s condition and how it changes after stroke.

A patent is issued to Duke-NUS for a novel Surrogate Virus Neutralization Technology (sVNT) which is developed by Professor Linfa Wang and his team from Duke-NUS, exclusively licensed to GenScript for commercialisation as the cPass and kit validation with clinical samples by Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research.  The invention relates to a  kit, composition and method for detection of antibodies to severe acute respiratory syndrome related coronavirus (SARSr-CoV), and for diagnosis of SARSr-CoV infection.
