US-based company General Motors IT hiring rose 18.1% in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 16.99% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 34.2% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2021, and recorded a flat growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops General Motors IT hiring in September 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by General Motors, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 75.21% in September 2021, and a 101.97% rise over August 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 13.49% in September 2021, and registered growth of 30.3%. Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 6.38% in September 2021, a 96.77% rise from August 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at General Motors

North America emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in September 2021 with a 93.83% share, which marked an 80.12% rise over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 3.24%, registering a 138.46% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 1.57% share and a 275% rise over August 2021.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.26% and a month-on-month decline of 20%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.1%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 91.84% share in September 2021, a 79.92% growth over August 2021. Slovenia featured next with a 2.93% share, up 600% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 1.78% share, an increase of 88.89% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead General Motors IT hiring activity in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.4%, up by 88.75% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.16% share, a growth of 71.11% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.44% share, up 62.35% over August 2021.
