Medical equipment firm Samsung Medison has unveiled its new premium ultrasound system HERA W10 along with the prototype of a chair-type ultrasound device HERA I10.

HERA, which stands for Hyper-aperture Enhanced Reconstruction Architecture, features the company’s new Crystal Architecture technology for better image quality.

In combination with Samsung’s S-Vue transducer technology, Crystal Architecture is said to enable an 11x increase in processing power and 10x data transfer speed compared to the predecessor system.

“HERA, which stands for Hyper-aperture Enhanced Reconstruction Architecture, features the company’s new Crystal Architecture technology for better image quality.”

Samsung expects that its new HERA W10 ultrasound device will allow examination of high-risk pregnancies, as well as diagnose abnormal foetus conditions early.

Additional features of the HERA W10 ultrasound device include ShadowHDR for shadow suppressed image, HQ-Vision to ensure high resolution, MV-Flow for viewing blood flow and LumiFlow to facilitate three-dimensional vascular image.

The device also comes with rotatable control panel and touch customisation.

HERA I10 is said to feature a unique design with automatic adjustment functionality for proper positioning. It is intended to address the spacing and position discomfort for the patient as well as the clinician.

Samsung is also planning to launch a new SonoSync ultrasound solution that will enable remote viewing of scanning images in real-time.

The new solution will offer two-way communications via voice chatting and marking. This feature is expected to improve accessibility.
