Coronavirus company news summary – Aethlon receives FDA approval for IDE supplement – Medtronic and Foxconn to increase ventilator production in US

US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the supplement to the current Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) for Aethlon Medical's Hemopurifier in viral disease, to permit testing of the Hemopurifier in Covid-19 patients in a new feasibility study. The study will enrol around 40 subjects at 20 US centres in the US.

Medtronic and Foxconn have partnered to increase the production of Medtronic Puritan Bennett 560 (PB560) ventilators in the US. Foxconn has completed  Medtronic's regulatory and quality requirements to begin manufacturing the devices. The companies aim to manufacture 10,000 PB560 ventilators at Foxconn’s Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in Wisconsin over the next year.

Clique Cannabis and Left Coast Extracts have donated 1,000 N-95 medical masks to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Diego. Hospital workers need to use one mask for each patient that they see, calling for the need for dozens of masks each day for nurses or doctors.
