MP Biomedicals Asia Pacific, in partnership with Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) has developed a rapid antibody test kit for Covid-19 coronavirus. Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur researchers have developed a portable rapid diagnostic device to detect Covid-19. It uses extracted RNA from saliva samples to test for the virus and is expected to make testing for Covid-19 affordable for the under-served communities, as it can be carried out in a low-cost portable enclosure. The university has stated that it has not produced false results and offers accuracy and sensitivity comparable to standard RT-PCR tests.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reissued the Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) of LabCorp's Covid-19 RT-PCR Test to include two new indications. The FDA has added the testing for asymptomatic people and those who have no reason to suspect infection. Additionally, it has also included pooled sample testing in the EUA.
