Coronavirus company news summary – Phosphorus receives FDA’s EUA for Covid-19 test – Xoran and MakeMedical to distribute VentMITM pressure regulator

By Chloe Kent

Sherlock Biosciences has entered into a collaboration with Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) for the large-scale manufacture of the Sherlock CRISPR SARS-CoV-2 kit, which has received the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA). The kit offers ‘specific and sensitive detection’ of the Covid-19 virus in patient samples and does not need any specialised instruments for testing.

KoKo and Belun Technology Company have launched the BLR-100C system, which will aid in the remote monitoring of patients with Covid-19. The Remote Monitoring Station monitors the vital signs of a patient in a hospital, nursing home or the patient’s home, reducing the risk of Covid-19 exposure and frees up essential resources.

Phosphorus has received EUA from the FDA for its Covid-19 saliva test, which includes an at-home sample collection. The test can be ordered online and from partnerships between employers and health care providers. This is the second test which has unsupervised saliva test which received FDA’s approval.

Xoran Technologies has entered into an agreement MakeMedical for the distribution of its VentMITM pressure regulator. It is designed to permit the use of single ventilator by many individuals and is expected to address the need for ventilators amid the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic.
