The US FDA has cleared Toshiba America Medical Systems’ new Vantage Titan 1.5T series, which features the 8, 16 and 32-channel MR systems.
The new Vantage Titan 1.5T series offers a scalable solution with a upgrade path from the 8-channel to the 32-channel system, while the entire Titan 1.5T MR line is enhanced with a sleek exterior with new covers and patient-soothing lighting around the bore, according to Toshiba.
Toshiba MR Business Unit director Stuart Clarkson said with the new additions provide hospitals with scalable MR technology options to meet a range of clinical needs.
"Now, healthcare facilities can acquire an 8-channel system today with the knowledge that it can be upgraded to a high-end 1.5T MR system as a facility’s clinical applications expand and grow in the future," Clarkson said.
Titan’s ability to upgrade to a 16 or 32-channel system facilitates higher spatial and temporal resolution for better images of moving anatomy.
The Titan 8-channel features a 71cm bore, proprietary Pianissimo noise-reduction technology, non-contrast imaging, integrated coils with Octave Speeder technology and an intuitive M-Power user interface.
Patients who are sensitive to contrast agents have the option to have a contrast-free exam with the Toshiba Vantage Titan 1.5T MRI system.
The clinical applications of the system include time space angiography, fresh blood imaging, contrast-free improved angiography and a spatial labelling inversion pulse.
