ENTrigue Surgical has entered into a collaboration agreement with a developer of portable navigation systems, fiagon.

By using electromagnetic tracking matrix algorithms and flexible pointing devices, fiagon’s navigation system simplifies the use of modern navigation and diagnostic tools in daily clinical routine.

Under the agreement, ENTrigue and fiagon will together provide the integrated navigation and therapy solutions including ENTrigue’s Ventera sinus dilation balloon system for ENT procedures in Europe.

ENTrigue’s Ventera system utilises proprietary SerpENT articulating technology to deliver the single-use balloon into various sinuses, without the use of either manual tip shaping, guide wire or cannula.

The minimally invasive Ventera sinus dilation system can be inserted transnasally and then articulated in-place to best access any sinus cavity, according to the company.

ENTrigue CEO Fred Dinger said integrating fiagon’s navigation with the sinus dilation platform will provide surgeons with an unparalleled level of position confirmation.

"We look forward to collaborating with fiagon to combine two game-changing platforms with the goal of bringing easy-to-use, cost effective technologies to the sinus surgery market," Dinger said.

ENTrigue said the Ventera system with fiagon’s dynamic navigation system will be featured in the upcoming American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery meeting held in Washington DC, US.
