Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis is the Midwest’s largest annual end-to-end design and manufacturing event, combining five connected expos in one epic event: MD&M, Automation Technology Expo (ATX), Design & Manufacturing (D&M), MinnPack and Plastec.

Minnesota is a renowned healthcare hub, home to Mayo Clinic, the top-ranked hospital in the US, as well as the largest private health insurer in the country. The state raised more than $3 billion in capital in 2021 from medtech start-ups.

Enabling med-tech collaboration

MD&M will host more than 620 exhibitors on 10-11 October, with hot topics including cardiovascular technology, 3D printing and robotics.

The expo component of MD&M West will enable attendees to discover the latest products and technology from leading medical technology suppliers, and find collaborative partners. Likewise, exhibitors will have the chance to connect with engineers, designers and decision-makers across the medical devices supply chain.

Exhibitors at MD&M

Alleima is one exhibitor that prides itself on being a one-stop shop for customised medical wire components. Working with a diverse portfolio of alloys, and specialising in choosing the best materials and configurations, the company’s Exera-branded, wire-based components are used in a variety of applications.

So far, they have been used in devices such as cochlear implants, pacemaker leads, fractional flow reserves (FFRs), implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD), catheters and guidewires.

Using machinery specifically designed for precision cutting, Exera medical wires, ribbons, and multi-filar and stranded cables can be cut to the customer’s requested length. Depending on the medical application, wire can be coated with polymer insulation and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), in addition to being given electroplating capabilities.
