Neuroblade, a 510(k)-cleared device, is designed to enhance the treatment of complex neurosurgical conditions, particularly intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH).

Under the terms of the agreement, Sutter Medical will serve as the sole distributor of the Neuroblade system across the US market.

The company is expected to leverage its established commercial framework and surgeon relationships to broaden the availability of the technology.

Clearmind Americas vice-president and general manager J Dustin Duckett said: “Clearmind’s mission has always been to simplify and advance the surgical treatment of haemorrhagic stroke, so patients not only survive but return to independent lives.

“By partnering with Sutter Medical, we can accelerate adoption of the Neuroblade across leading stroke and neurosurgical centres in the US, giving surgeons the tools they need to treat ICH more effectively.”

ICH is said to be one of the severe forms of stroke with high mortality and disability rates and limited treatment options.

Clearmind said that Neuroblade aims to address these challenges by offering a minimally invasive platform.

The platform combines coagulation, illumination, irrigation, powered debridement, suction and visualisation.

This integration aims to enhance surgical workflows by reducing the need for instrument changes and improving precision, said Clearmind.

Sutter vice-president Brent Lacy said: “We are proud to add the Neuroblade to our US portfolio.

“Its unique combination of minimally invasive access and integrated functionality aligns perfectly with our mission to provide neurosurgeons with tools that improve surgical workflow, precision and enhance patient outcomes.”
