US-based Autonomix Medical has secured a new patent from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office covering its catheter-based tissue monitoring and therapy delivery technology.
The agency issued Canadian Patent No. 3,183,802, titled “Systems, Methods, and Devices for Monitoring and Treatment of Tissues Within and/or Through a Lumen Wall.”

The newly granted patent protects intraluminal systems and instruments that operate from within a bodily lumen.
Under the protected design, deployable probes penetrate into or through the vessel wall to reach nerves and tissues situated outside the lumen.
The claims include multi-site electrophysiological sensing across primary target, secondary, and reference locations, as well as signal-processing techniques that monitor changes in neural activity patterns to verify procedural outcomes and treatment completion.
The patent also includes closed-loop control functionality designed to modify stimulation or therapeutic energy delivery in real time using live physiological feedback.
In addition, the coverage includes control units configured to evaluate, guide, and optimise procedures across various signal types and therapeutic modalities used in denervation and nerve-targeted therapies.
Autonomix Medical CEO Brad Hauser said: “We believe the future of nerve-targeted therapy lies not only in identifying the appropriate neural target, but in enabling physicians to precisely access that target, deliver therapy with objective physiological feedback, and determine whether the intended therapeutic effect has been achieved.
“This patent strengthens protection around the core technologies that enable catheter-based transvascular intervention, reinforcing the differentiated capabilities of our platform and supporting our long-term strategy to advance next-generation neuromodulation technologies across multiple clinical applications.”
Corresponding patents for related inventions were previously granted in Europe and the US. With the addition of the Canadian grant, Autonomix Medical holds 112 issued patents and pending patent applications internationally.
The company’s intellectual property portfolio covers core platforms for nerve mapping, signal processing, and controlled micro-ablation across multiple organ systems, with patent protections extending into the late 2030s across jurisdictions including Canada, Europe, and the US.
