Torax Medical, a medical technology company specialising in minimally invasive treatments for gastrointestinal disorders, has been acquired by Ethicon, part of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies.

The acquistion of Torax, which specialises in manufacturing LINX reflux management system for the surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), will enable the acquirer to expand its portfolio of minimally-invasive options.

In a bid to expand its operations in the field of medical devices, Chinese pharmaceutical company, Zhejiang Jingxin Pharmaceutical, has announced its intention to acquire more than 16% stake in Perflow Medical for a purchase consideration of $4m.
