UltraClear is powered by cold fibre laser technology and can be used to treat different skin conditions, such as wrinkles, scars and acne scars, pigmentation, enlarged pores, fine lines, and other complexion issues.

The company said that the system is safe for all skin types.

Acclaro co-founder president, chairman and chief technology officer Shlomo Assa, who also invented the UltraClear technology, said: “The 2,910nm wavelength is at water peak absorption and maximises tissue ablation while minimising the incidence of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) or post-inflammatory erythema (PIE), as well as bleeding.

“Fibre lasers are the future of laser technology because they are more reliable with superior beam quality and speed.”

Acclaro chief medical officer Eric F Bernstein conducted a histopathology study of the effects of the UltraClear laser with the Main Line Center for Laser Surgery in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. The study has not yet been published.

Bernstein said: “The laser is extremely fast. Depending on the setting, I have treated the full face in four minutes without pain using the 15mm x 15mm spot, which is easy to use.

“Plus, the fact that we don’t need to use topical anaesthetic saves me an hour plus on each patient, which is a huge advantage.”
