During the research period the company partnered with Indian healthcare company Hunjan hospital to launch the Mako Robotic Arm-Assisted Surgery system. Stryker also released its new Citrelock Tendon Fixation Device System, which enables safe tendon fixation while simultaneously preventing bulk degradation and chronic inflammation. The system uses a new tendon thread material called Citregen, which is composed of citrate, calcium and phosphate molecules.
Again in the realm of invasive procedure devices, the FDA approved Stryker’s biodegradable subacromial balloon spacer. The device is called InSpace and is meant to treat torn rotator cuff tendons. The implant can restore the tendons in the subacromial space without the use of sutures or fixation devices.
