The top five companies accounted for 11% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that Koninklijke Philips filed the most artificial intelligence patents within the medical industry in Q2 2024. The company filed 104 artificial intelligence-related patents in the quarter, compared with 104 in the previous quarter. It was followed by Siemens with 68 artificial intelligence patent filings, Fujifilm (52 filings), and Johnson & Johnson (41 filings) in Q2 2024.
Patenting activity was driven by the US with a 38% share of total patent filings
