A recently granted patent (Publication Number: US11883314B2) discloses a unique valve designed for use in inflatable orthopedic devices. The valve features a fluid inlet port, multiple fluid outlet ports, and a fluid control means that can be positioned in various orientations. When the fluid control means is in a specific orientation, it creates a first fluid path between the fluid inlet port and one of the fluid outlet ports, following a specific trajectory through the valve. In another orientation, a second fluid path is established between the fluid inlet port and a different outlet port, following a distinct path through the valve.

Furthermore, the valve includes an outer housing and an inner flow director as part of the fluid control means. The inner flow director comprises an interior flow channel with openings that facilitate the flow of fluid through the valve. Each fluid inlet port and outlet port has a corresponding flow channel that extends at a downward angle from the exterior surface of the fluid control means. Additionally, the fluid control means is designed as a rotatable dial, featuring a dome-shaped body with a concave inner portion from which the fluid inlet and outlet ports extend. This innovative valve design allows for precise control and direction of fluid flow within inflatable orthopedic devices, enhancing their functionality and performance.
