Biotechnology company Anitoa Systems has launched the Anitoa MAx16, an automation-ready real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) modular system.
The new fully integrated four-plex (4 independent fluorescence channels) qPCR module with 16-well capacity can be easily incorporated into a molecular testing automation flow.

It is suitable for use in various applications, including sample/library preparation for DNA sequencing, integrated sample extraction to amplification and detection nucleic acid test system.
The system includes a fast thermal cycler that can run a complete RT-PCR protocol within 30 minutes.
MAx16 instruments feature Anitoa’s in-house manufactured CMOS-based 4-6 channel fluorescence detection optical system.
The system utilises an electrically actuated heat lid to facilitate automation. It also offers a digital interface to the main automation system controller and is compatible with various communication protocols, including qPCR control over a USB link or CAN bus.

By GlobalDataMeasuring 250mm x 160mm x 140mm and weighing less than 2,200g, MAx16 can be easily integrated into a compact desktop robotic fluid handling automation system.
Anitoa Systems CEO Dr Zhimin Ding said: “We are seeing a growing demand for fully automated molecular test systems that are compact, easy to use and reliable.

In June 2022, the company introduced a CE-marked turn-key PCR testing solution for Monkeypox.
The portable solution comprises a small-footprint real-time PCR instrument known as the Maverick qPCR.
It also features an extraction-free multiplex PCR reagent designed to test OPXV/MPXV gene targets in skin lesion samples from patients suspected of Monkeypox infection.
In May 2022, Anitoa Systems introduced a portable RT-PCR molecular test that can identify dengue virus infections. The solution includes a one-step multiplex RT-PCR reagent in lyophilised format.
