Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) has introduced SiteRite 9, an advanced vascular access ultrasound system to help increase clinician efficiency.
The SiteRite 9 all-in-one system is intended to help physicians work efficiently when inserting IV lines, central venous catheters, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs), and other vascular access devices.

The system offers ‘industry-leading’ catheter placement tools and technologies for supporting clinicians while inserting vascular access devices.
It features an updated 15.6in touchscreen with enhanced image quality, making it easy to use.

By GlobalDataThe system comprises integrated visualisation tools, including the Cue Needle monitoring system, which gives nurses continuous, real-time needle monitoring; and the Sherlock 3CG+ Tip Confirmation System, which guarantees accurate catheter tip navigation and position.
The SiteRite 9 features intelligent, networked technologies such as vessel assessment tools.
These tools are designed to detect the vessel automatically and then pair with vessel measurement tools to help clinicians select the suitable catheter.
The system also provides record transfer, auto-filling capabilities, and patient data lookup with information collection to support clinician workflow.
The SiteRite 9 system is commercially available in the US. It received 510(k) clearance in September 2023.
Last month, BD unveiled the new PIVO Pro needle-free blood collection device to draw blood samples directly from a patient’s peripheral IV line.
