Medica provides remote teleradiology reporting services for radiology departments across 55% of NHS Trusts. Its specialities include stroke imaging, cardiac, PET CT, and nuclear medicine.

Axon specialises in digital pathology and supports NHS and private healthcare providers in managing caseloads and remote reporting workflows via its cloud-based teleradiology and telepathology platform.

By merging Axon’s platform and artificial intelligence (AI)-based workflow tools, together with clinical desktop technology from Axon’s sister company, MITIS, Medica said the unified entity will deliver more streamlined workflows and support greater efficiency and cost effectiveness for clients, in alignment with the NHS’s long term priorities.

Within the 10-year plan for the NHS that was unveiled in July 2025, the UK’s Labour government outlined that one of the focuses will be on driving hospitals’ deployment of AI to support reporting in radiology and pathology, and the provision of remote monitoring to support virtual care of patients at home.
