Devon Medical Products, a US-based medical device designer and manufacturer, has introduced the Cirona 6300 portable deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prevention therapy device.

The system features an adjustable sleeve with a compression therapy device unit attached and it can be used at home or in a hospital to assist in the prevention of DVT and improve circulation, which could help diminish post-operative pain and swelling.

DVT is a condition in which blood clots (thrombus) in a vein deep inside a muscle in the body. It is commonly found in the deep veins of the pelvis, thigh or calf.

This condition can partly or completely block blood flow, resulting in sudden swelling, pain or a sensation of warmth.

Cirona 6300 simulates blood flow in extreme conditions by using pneumatic compression and helps to avoid the early onset of blood clots that can occur following various traumas or in post-operative settings.

Adjustable velcro sleeves make it easy in applying and removing the device for therapy.
