Fujifilm Sonosite has received CE Mark approval for its new point-of-care solution, iViz, the next-generation architecture and platform that combines ultrasound with medical IT.
The platform was designed for clinical users, ranging from hospital settings to clinics in remote villages, to carry out ultrasound when and where it is needed.

Designed for emerging point-of-care settings where there is need for a highly accessible and mobile solution, iViz provides clinicians with access to patient vitals, online applications and learning resources.
The technology integrates with hospital IT and EMR systems to secure patient demographics and submit reports, while it also connects securely with cloud services for sharing studies with remote providers for near-time assessments.

By GlobalDataThe iViz, which features a high resolution 7in display touchscreen, includes Wi-Fi capabilities, bluetooth connectivity and interface ports for USB, HDMI and audio.
The system supports M-Mode and colour velocity doppler, in addition to high-resolution 2D imaging.
It is available with a P21v phased array 5MHz transducer and features software technologies, including SonoHD2 imaging technology and SonoADAPT tissue optimisation technology.
In January, Fujifilm Sonosite and medical vision solutions provider Vivid Medical collaborated to co-promote the VividTrac video intubation device.
Vivid Medical developed the VividTrac, an open access video intubation device that delivers a consistently high and reliable performance. Featuring a USB interface, the device connects easily to a variety of display options.
