As per the definitive agreement signed between the two companies, Zeltiq Aesthetics’ flagship product, CoolSculpting System, will be added to Allergan’s global portfolio of medical aesthetics, following the acquisition.
CoolSculpting System is an FDA-cleared product, which reduces unwanted fat using a patented cooling technology.
Diagnostic products provider, Hologic, has signed a definitive agreement to buy the entire outstanding shares of aesthetic treatment systems provider, Cynosure, for $66 a share, which corresponds to an equity value of approximately $1.65bn and an enterprise value of $1.44bn, in cash.
Cynosure will merge to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hologic, upon completion of the transaction.
