Nikkiso America medical division president Thomas Kelly said: "Nikkiso America is committed to continuing our company’s legacy of innovation to improve hemodialysis treatment outcomes while also addressing the needs of the care team."

The blood volume monitor (BVM) is a unique feature of the DBB-06 System which assists the clinician in responding to the patient’s hydration status by using a continuous monitoring of the relative blood volume during treatment. The feature requires no additional disposables or cost per treatment.

The BVM has an adaptive feedback feature which allows an automatic change of fluid removal to achieve an improved outcome.

The DBB-06 System also features other aspects including ultrafiltration profiling, ultrapure dialysate, patient blood pressure monitoring and an easy data entry is facilitated by a self-prompting, intuitive touchscreen user interface.

Safety for patients is also ensured as the system is incorporated with an automatic battery backup system for up to 30 minutes, which is utilised during power failures to allow an automated return of the patient’s blood while ensuring safety.

The set of features composing the DBB-06 system reduces noise while operating ensuring patient comfort.

The system is easy to maintain as structurally it allows easy access to its internal components, while the hydraulic functions and events are displayed on the technician screen.

It is also enabled with a heat exchanger and standby mode during its operation which makes the system resource-efficient.
