Medical technology company Pentax Medical has unveiled its new high-definition (HD) pulmonology endoscopy system to the European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) markets.
Named the DEFINA system, it features a combination of an HD processor with i-scan imaging technology and two highly maneuverable HD bronchoscopes.

The device offers clear image quality which facilitates a quick and detailed study of the scan for an improved analysis of the bronchial mucosa anatomy.
The i-scan technology results to a precise detection and classification of areas susceptible towards the disease and detects abnormalities to assist in the treatment.

Aligned with the increasing hygiene requirements, the DEFINA system uses disposable accessories to eliminate chances of cross-contamination.
The STERRAD compatible device is immuned from the multidrug resistant and extreme drug resistant Mycobacterium.
It features a new disposable suction valve which is attached to the endoscope using a click mechanism that cannot be dislodged hence ensuring patient safety. It delivers strong suction to eliminate secretion and control bleeding for precise sampling.
The combination of EPK-3000 HD processor with two HD bronchoscopes (EB15-J10 and EB19-J10) of the DEFINA system promotes an ergonomic design and ease of operation.
