"The device is adjustable and reversible, it closes the wound in a secure way with uniformly distributed force along the length of the incision."

The flexible design allows it to adapt to patient movements thereby ensuring patient comfort.

The Zip is designed with the dynamic compression feature which enables the device to span across the length of the incision during joint articulation or body movement while protecting the incision from distraction forces perpendicular to the incision.

It enables clinicians to adjust the closure tension at anytime during the procedure.

The device can be easily removed by peeling from skin which can be done in the comfort of the patient's home subject to a surgeon’s discretion.

The prospective, randomised, controlled study involved 214 pediatric patients who were undergoing cardiovascular surgery.

The study compared the treatment of Zip to that of the continuous subcuticular polypropylene sutures for skin closure over a period of three months.

Results of the study suggested improvement in scar appearance evaluated on the basis of the Vancouver Scar Scale with lesser time taken for the skin closure.

It had also recorded lesser patient discomfort while removing the device.
