The company stated that the new PlasmaTYPHOONdry further advances the endoscope drying to improve patient safety.

PENTAX Americas president Ojas Buch said: “Recent changes to industry standards have further highlighted the need to dry endoscope channels after reprocessing, prior to use, and prior to storage. PlasmaTYPHOONdry reinforces PENTAX Medical’s commitment to the GI community and addressing its unmet needs.”

The company aims to develop innovative products, optimise the processes, and integrate feedback from the market to tackle infection prevention needs of customers and patient safety.

In June last year, PENTAX Medical formed a joint venture (JV) with Jiangsu Vedkang Medical Science and Technology to develop single-use, flexible medical endoscopic therapeutic products.

Named PENTAX Medical Therapeutics (Jiangsu), the JV was formed to use the marketing network of the company to offer advanced single-use devices to clients across the world.
