Diagnostic imaging equipment provider Probo Medical has concluded the acquisition of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coil repair operation from US-based Creative Foam.

The acquired operation enables Probo Medical to provide a range of complex MRI coil repairs in-house. It also complements the company’s repair capabilities in other diagnostic imaging modalities.

Probo Medical CEO Michael Asmer said: “The synergies this acquisition provides greatly enhance Probo’s ability to serve our growing diagnostic imaging repair segment.

“Adding this level of expertise to our existing, world-class ultrasound sales, service and repair capabilities fits squarely within the value proposition we provide to our customers needing to buy, service and repair their equipment.”

Probo Medical intends to shift all of its MRI coil repair operations to its headquarters located in Tampa, Florida.

The name of Creative Foam will remain unchanged and the company will continue its operations at its facility in Bremen, Indiana, providing solutions for the transportation and healthcare sectors.

Furthermore, Probo has established a long-term alliance with Creative Foam. Under the partnership, Creative Foam will provide re-foaming of MRI coils.

Probo Medical offers refurbished diagnostic imaging equipment sales, service, rental, and repair. The company is also involved in installation of imaging equipment such as ultrasound, x-ray, c-arm, fluoroscopy, mammography, MRI and computerised tomography (CT).
