Scivita Medical Technology has entered a strategic agreement with Boston Scientific for its single-use percutaneous choledochoscope.

The companies intend to establish a long-term business collaboration, as well as a distribution agreement for the commercialisation, marketing and promotion of Scivita’s single-use percutaneous choledochoscope in China.

Scivita Medical expects this collaboration to further broaden the market penetration of its percutaneous choledochoscope, which is part of the company’s comprehensive product offering of single-use videoscopes, reusable endoscopes, and related systems and equipment.

The percutaneous choledochoscope penetration rate in China is expected to increase, benefiting more hospitals and patients, due to the collaboration with Boston Scientific.

Scivita Medical said in a statement: “This is another important initiative for Scivita Medical in establishing its vision of becoming a global company, and another milestone following its strategic cooperation with Fujifilm for the European market.

It also noted that the global single-use videoscope market is growing quickly as a result of increased demands to mitigate cross-contamination risks and hospital-acquired diseases, mainly amid the outbreak of Covid-19.
