The printer offers life-like anatomical models for pre-operative surgical planning, potentially reducing operating room time and costs.

These models also facilitate improved communication within medical teams and patients.

Stratasys said the printer is equipped to support the creation of biomechanically accurate materials, enabling the production of models that mimic human tissue, vasculature and skeletal structures.

This feature provides realistic haptic feedback for various procedures and supports imaging with true-to-life radiopacity characteristics.

Furthermore, the printer is designed to be compact and office-friendly, addressing the budget and space constraints often faced by institutions.

With its small footprint and lower total cost of ownership, the printer is accessible to a wide range of healthcare providers and researchers.

Last year, Stratasys signed an agreement with CollPlant Biotechnologies to develop and commercialise a solution for the industrial-scale bioprinting of tissues and organs.

The companies will initially collaborate on the development of a bioprinting solution for regenerative breast implants produced by CollPlant.
