BioIQ and Phosphorus have partnered to introduce an at-home test kit for Covid-19 which has now received Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). With this test, users can self-collect a sample that will then be processed in the laboratory. The solution uses Phosphorus’ saliva collection kit and specimen return package and BioIQ’s health technology platform to support digital symptom and exposure assessment, contact tracing, and follow-up care navigation. Results of the test are available in 24 hours to 48 hours.

Enexor Health Systems has received EUA from the FDA for the use of its new ventilator, X-VENT. The company expects to deliver the ventilators to hospitals in the next few days. The X-VENT is designed to provide the critical ventilation modes needed by patients infected by Covid-19.

Ortho Clinical Diagnostics is working with the US Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to accelerate the development of its SARS-CoV-2 total and IgG antibody tests. This collaboration is a part of BARDA’s and the federal government’s efforts for the development of Covid-19 medical countermeasures. BARDA has provided Ortho with $678,000 to aid its Covid-19 antibody testing programme.

South Korean company Yuyu Pharma and SD BIOSENSOR have signed a supply agreement under which Yuyu Pharma will export Covid-19 test kits around the world. The company is in talks with different healthcare providers and leading hospitals under the global network of Yuyu Pharma to export the kits. SD BIOSENSOR’s STANDARD M nCoV Real-Time Detection Kit received EUA from the FDA in April.
