z-microsystems is focused on moulding parts for the medical industry (LOC) under clean room conditions. A major strength of z-microsystems is its in-house tool shop, which has optimised moulding systems for high-quality parts and efficient productivity.

We support our costumers by giving input for the development of their parts, finding an optimised concept for the mould technology as well as producing the first samples to finally assume responsibility for mass production.

The keystone to our success is the tool shop. More than 50 years ago we started to build tools, thus we have lots of experience and several patents on mould technology.

During recent years we have been able to enhance our experience and performance in producing moulds for ‘lab-on-a-chip’ devices. We developed optimised technologies for high-quality moulds including, but not limited to:

Another big advantage is our possibility to react very fast in case of design changes.

As we handle all necessary methods for machining inserts, we are able to ensure the highest quality; e.g. regarding surface roughness, tolerances, etc. During mould design the manufacturing team is involved to guarantee to find an optimised concept for every part.

The equipment of our moulding machines works with all required technologies such as:

This enables us to find the perfect process for every product during sampling. Our application engineers working in the technology centre are well trained and have excellent knowledge in moulding several materials.

Moulding of ‘lab-on-a-chip’

We also use the same technologies for production. Moreover, the production machines are equipped with handling systems.

The measurement equipment, such as our coordinate measurement machine (CMM), measuring microscope and optical measurement machine, is ready to use for first article inspections and production accompanying sampling plans.

Our moulding processes, including handling, are validated and we are working on getting certified by ISO 13485.
