Johnson and Johnson’s (J&J) division DePuy Synthes has introduced a new pre-sterilised, single-use kit comprising instruments and implants required to treat wrist fractures.

Designed to improve operating efficiency, minimise sterilisation costs and optimise the procedure, Distal Radius Sterile Kit includes DePuy’s plate and screw implants, alongside the single-use instrumentation.

The kit is expected to eliminate more than 60% of the steps involved in reusable sets’ processing.

DePuy Synthes Trauma global franchise leader IV Hall said: “The Distal Radius Sterile Kit is an example of how we are responding to customer needs by providing value beyond the implant.

“By combining our market-leading plate and screw solution with single-use instrumentation, we are supporting our customers ranging from academic medical centres to community hospitals in providing high-quality care in an efficient, cost-effective way.”

"The Distal Radius Sterile Kit is an example of how we are responding to customer needs by providing value beyond the implant."

The firm developed the kit to meet the increasing demand for a solution that would allow surgeons and providers to deliver high-quality treatment for patients.
