To be an innovative business partner for our clients, we aim to include sustainability in each area of our business.
For us, that means integrating sustainability throughout the entire value chain – from research to final product.
Our commitment to sustainable business starts in our own integrated production system. We build our operations on true circularity by optimising the raw material added to each melt in our steel mill and with a very high amount of recycled steel.
“Today we’re on average at 84% secondary raw material in the process. This is a super high number. I would say it is a world-class number. But we are striving for 90%,” says Per Ragnar Moberg, Purchasing Manager.
To optimise our own operations and to attain an even more efficient and sustainable steel production process we are constantly looking for ways to improve our processes and our use of resources.
“We’re working with leading AI researchers and using artificial intelligence to be able to better determine the actual distribution of compositions in our recycled material. Then we can increase the proportion of recycled material,” explains Magnus Josefsson, Manager Raw Material Optimization.
