Effective from 1st January 2007, SCHURTER Holding AG in Lucerne, Switzerland, manufacturer and supplier of electronic and electro-mechanical components worldwide, took over the Swiss company of TICOMEL SA, Mendrisio, as well as their affiliated company INTERELECTRONIK in Romania.
With more than 500 employees, TICOMEL SA produces electro-mechanical components. The product range comprises chokes, network filters as well as customer specific SMD printed circuit board assemblies for the industrial electronic and telecommunication industries. The plant in Mendrisio employs 90, the production facility in Romania over 400 people. The consolidated turnover last year was approximately CHF 24m.
SCHURTER and TICOMEL had already maintained a long-lasting and intensive customer-supplier relationship. With this take-over, the SCHURTER Group will extend its EMC business.
Ten production companies located in Switzerland, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, India, China and newly, Romania belong to the SCHURTER Group, as well as seven sales companies in the USA, Italy, Sweden, Great Britain, Japan, Singapore and Brazil.
Representatives in more than 50 countries together with approximately 200 distributors are responsible for worldwide sales.
SCHURTER develops, produces and sells high quality electro-mechanical components for the electronic and electrical industries. The guarantee of a safe electrical power supply and a comfortable operation is the main focus. Including TICOMEL, SCHURTER Holding employs about 1,600 people worldwide.
