Frankfurt Laser Company (FLC) is a distributor of laser diode arrays, vertical-cavity-surface-emitting lasers (VCSEL) and quantum cascade lasers for medical device manufacturers.
The company offers an extensive portfolio comprising Fabry Perot (FP), distributed feedback (DFB) and distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser diodes, as well as single mode (SM) individually addressable and broad area arrays.
FLC’s products are used to develop high-performance lasers for medical applications such as urology, general surgery, gynaecology, dentistry, cosmetics surgery and skin treatments.
FLC offers the Stradus Line of biomedical high-stability laser modules by Vortran.
These high-performance circular laser diode modules meet Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) standards. They are also CE Marked and compliant with electrotechnical commission (IEC) / restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS).
FLC’s modules deliver optical power and temperature regulation, a communication interface and protection circuitry. They are optimised for biomedical, medical and industrial applications.
Featuring both USB and RS-232 connectivity, the diodes process wavelengths from 375μm to 940μm.
FLC provides AKELA’s range of multi-wavelength, fibre-coupled diode laser modules for use in research and development (R&D) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) markets.
With applications in microscopy and red green blue (RGB) projectors, the diode lasers feature blast shields, fibre interlocks, and red or green aiming beams.
AKELA’s diodes include the Trio (with or without a fibre sensor), Quinta, Setia, Doppia and Piccolor, which can handle as many as eight power emitters with wavelengths up to 18μm.
FLC presents mid-infrared (IR) quantum cascade laser (QCL) modules by MirSense. These modules are suitable for 3-14μm IR lasers, which are used in applications such as spectroscopy, including gas detection.
MultiSense’s diodes are available as standalone modules or in combination with QCL and photoacoustic cells. They detect gases at temperatures of up to 200°C, making the units suitable for incinerators or combustors.
FLC offers the PowerMir (with or without a driver), a standalone MultiSense multi-gas detection unit, or a turnkey system with the capability of holding two lasers.
FLC strives to deliver high-quality laser technologies to the medical device market. The company works closely with partners MultiSense, AKELA and Vortran to provide diodes that meet the highest quality and regulatory standards. Other suppliers include OSRAM, USHIO, PD-LD, LED Microsensor NT, Mitsubishi and SemiNex.
The company has been one of the top distributors of semiconductor lasers for 25 years. It understands the market and sources optimal products for each client.
FLC supports international research projects such as GLAURIOUS, which was launched by the European Commission (EC).

We are excited to introduce a new line of Compact DPSS Lasers designed for high power output and power stability combined with the compact size. These advanced lasers provide solutions for a wide range of industrial, medical, scientific, and optical applications.
Frankfurt Laser Company proudly marks a significant milestone this year as we celebrate three decades of excellence in the laser industry.
The Frankfurt Laser Company is pleased to introduce a new product from the Vortran laser product line:
The 689nm discrete mode laser diode from the FEBP series is a cost-effective, highly coherent laser source with a typical linewidth of 4MHz.
The high-power IR Fabry-Pérot laser diodes from the FNPL series are available with any wavelength between 1950nm and 2350nm with an accuracy of ±20nm. Other wavelengths are available on request.
The high-power QCW laser diode stacks from Beijing RealLight are very compact and deliver peak powers from 480W to 5,600W. They are offered at 796nm or 808nm or as combination of these two wavelengths. Due to the hard soldered sub-mount, they are very reliable and can be used in applications requiring high-temperature operation (up to 60°C).
Frankfurt Laser Company is pleased to announce a contract-based partnership with Alter Technology UK. Alter Technology Group’s core business is Photonic and Microelectronic based Semiconductor Assembly and Test Services, but the company has recently been developing its own laser diode products and platforms.
FLC gun sight mini lasers are customised, compact structure laser diode modules with various single mode wavelengths (450nm, 520nm, 635nm, 650nm, 780nm and 850nm), different output powers (≤0.4mW; ≤1.0mW; ≤5.0mW), small beam sizes (≤6x12mm@10m & ≤10x20mm@20m) and very compact housings (Φ3.3x8.0mm; Φ3.85x8.5mm; Φ4x8.5mm; Φ4x10mm; Φ6x12mm).
The new FRLD-1535-xxxµJ-Q-BEyy series of laser modules are an integrated 1535nm high-energy erbium glass microchip laser with up to 40x beam expander and photodetector (PIN). This series is specified to deliver high peak power of 5μJ-1J at 1535nm with divergence angle of less than 0.3mrad, and provide PD output signal.
The FPYL-532-50T-SLM-C and FPYL-532-100T-SLM-C have an outstandingly wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C. They are offered with either 50mW or 100mW at 532nm in a very compact housing of just 110mm x 52mm x 52mm. The spectral linewidth is 9m.
The FNV-402-3000M is a unique 402nm laser diode that delivers record-breaking output power of >3W. It is built in a compact 9mm TO can (SOT-148). The laser diode offers high reliability and has a long lifetime of more than 47,000 hours (MTTF).
The new Green Laser Dazzler GLM-520-850-25560 from Lasence delivers 850mW of green light (520nm), which is sufficient to dazzle at a distance of up to 30m at night. The dazzling distance is adjustable from 3m to 30m. There is a distance scale at the adjusting part to make sure that the power density is between 0.1-2.6mW/cm² in the daytime and between 0.06-1.3mW/cm² at night.
