Marketing Director Aaron Johnson notes the annual SPIE Optics and Photonics Conference and Exhibition in San Diego is a proven winner for strengthening connections and creating new working relationships in a various a highly specialised fields. This year’s event sponsored by the Society of Photographic Instrumentation Engineers was no exception.

"On the scientific side, the San Diego event included more than 3,300 presentations on nano-science and engineering, solar energy and technology, organic photonics and electronics, optical engineering and applications and SPIE optics and photonics. As a result, it attracted many of the top minds and biggest players in those fields," Johnson said. "On the exhibition side, it featured a number of key technologies in our wheelhouse and on our radar screen, including optical components, fabrication and design; detectors, sensors, and cameras; laser systems; signal imaging and processing equipment; fiber optics, optoelectronics; positioning and vibration-isolation equipment; LED and OLED technology; and test, measurement and analysis equipment."

He added, "Even as we continue our follow-ups from SPIE San Diego 2013, we’re preparing for MM, MEMS & NANO Live UK 2013. The title always looks like an alphabet soup but those letters always spell ‘opportunity’ to us. With industry leaders from around the world there, we have the perfect audience to share the story of Accumold’s ability to innovate, develop and produce the micro-molded components that move the modern world forward."

This year’s version of the Birmingham event, which will span Sept. 25th – 26th, is one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to Micro, Precision, MEMS and Nano Manufacturing. It is expected to draw even more participants that last year’s 2,000 attendees. Exhibits will run the full gamut of technologies from laser micromachining and micro-injection molding to MEMS fabrication, assembly, inspection and test equipment.

Since its inception in 1985, Accumold’s mission has been the production of super-micro, ultra-precision, plastic injection-molded parts. Parts manufactured by the firm are critical components of the medical, automotive, military, aerospace and telecommunications industries. They can be found in micro-electronics, cell phones, telecommunications, surgical tools, hearing aids, medical devices, antennas, connectors and more. To produce those parts, Accumold builds specialised molding machines engineered to handle volumes from prototypes to millions per year while maintaining consistent, precise tolerances that are unique in the industry.
