Notably, smart hospitals was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q2 2023, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of medical device quality control and remote patient monitoring, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the medical industry, Medtronic had the greatest increase in references for smart hospitals in Q2 2023, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 29 smart hospitals-related sentences in the company's filings - 5% of all sentences - and an increase of 4% in Q2 2023 compared with Q2 2022. ResMed’s mentions of smart hospitals rose by 157% to 18 and Zimmer Biomet’s by 35% to 15 and Abbott Laboratories’s by 40% to 14 and Illumina’s by 38% to 13.
