Notably, smart hospitals was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q4 2023, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of mobile and blockchain, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the medical industry, Medtronic had the greatest increase in references for smart hospitals in Q4 2023, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 54 smart hospitals-related sentences in the company's filings - 2% of all sentences - and remained flat of 0% in Q4 2023 compared with Q4 2022. Stryker’s mentions of smart hospitals rose by 114% to 30 and Zimmer Biomet’s by 62% to 16 and Align Technology’s by 40% to 14.
