In the week of 7 March to 13 March, 345 medtech companies posted 13,504 jobs worldwide, according to the GlobalData jobs analytics tool. This figure represents a decrease of 13.6% on the previous week’s 15,635 jobs.

Bausch + Lomb was yet again the top hirer among companies advertising for new roles, advertising 1,090 positions. This was followed by Biotronik in second place with 692 jobs posted and Sonova Holding, which posted 652 jobs.

The majority of listings were for junior-level jobs, with 5,609 positions falling into this category. Overall, 3,803 entry level positions were posted, with slightly fewer mid-level roles posted at 3,753. In all, 339 senior positions were advertised.

Kindeva boosts UK growth with new life sciences hub

Formerly known as 3M Drug Delivery Systems, Kindeva Drug Delivery has expanded its UK operations at Charnwood Campus, a biopharmaceutical site situated within a 70-acre technology park in Loughborough.

The company will take over an R&D facility at Charnwood Campus as well as a further 20,000 square feet of office space at the site. It is currently advertising for sales representatives and business managers at its Loughborough location.

Charnwood Campus commercial director Gosia Khrais said: “Kindeva’s expansion is great news for both the Charnwood site and the local area, with the company’s ambitious growth plans set to create new office-based roles as well as safeguard hundreds of highly valuable scientific jobs in Loughborough and the East Midlands.”

Kindeva specialises in solving complex drug delivery and combination product challenges for its customers, and currently employs over 500 staff in the UK. It focuses primarily on therapies for patients suffering from serious conditions such as respiratory illnesses, central nervous system disorders and cancers.
