The US medical industry registered a 0.1% decline in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 4.77% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.45% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 0.52% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 93.62% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US medical industry in July 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.99% in July 2021, a 7.65% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 9.17% share, an increase of 15% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 8.92%, registering a 19.73% decline from June 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 7.32%, down 26.13% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the US IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 6.94% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US medical industry during July 2021 over June 2021.

Danaher posted 176 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 72.55% over the previous month, followed by Sonova with 102 jobs and a 2.86% drop. Becton Dickinson and with 100 IT jobs and Abbott Laboratories with 100 jobs, recorded a 53.92% drop and a 49.25% increase, respectively, while Medtronic recorded a 28% decline with 72 job postings during July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.69%, up by 2.35% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.72% share, a decline of 12.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.05% share, up 7.86% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.55%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 83.33%.
